I have been beaten... by this:

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a ... menu? A menu to choose your dinner from, you ask? No. That whole menu is dinner.

Detailed pics of each dish, visual demonstrations of friendly fun with hammers, and a video of the real way to make noodles will be coming soon...

Good night Hong Kong (^-^)

Good Morning World!

I can't sleep anymore- it's 5:25 am and I must admit that think that my biological clock did a fine job in switching around the day. It was great to be in a bed instead of sleeping mid flight. My feet were especially happy

I would really like some coffee and already confirmed the location of a Starbucks nearby. It looks dark and quiet outside- except for this taxi- so I wont dare go out yet. Maybe I'll just try and check out the workout room upstairs and save coffee for later.

I have a presentation today, and am a little nervous. I will most definitely use some of the morning to practice.

Yay! We're Here

After we landed, M and I decided to take advantage of the free afternoon and walk around the city. It reminded me so much of NYC. The hustle and bustle, and the lights, and the groceries, etc.

The trees and the parks are beautiful.

They even have cute vending machines sprinkled throughout the city.

We also happened to haggle with some street vendors for gifts to bring home (okay, okay- I did most of the shopping and all of the haggling)

How would you like waking up to this guy crawling next to you at night?

Here are some views from the streets of Kowloon part of HK. Note the wedding store!

We passed by this guy for a second time. He looks like he might be related to a friend I have over at the Museum of Science in Boston.

I begin to get very tired.

We went to eat before getting back to the hotel to rest. Surprisingly inexpensive and delicious noodles with brisket and bbq'd duck. It taste very different from Pho and is extremely filling.

Which leaves me with my last pic of the night. This is what I see when I go to www.yahoo.com . I'm getting tired and need to prep for tomorrow. Thanks for reading- Love you!

The Flight

After we sat in JFK (last photo) we got on the long flight to HK. Cathay Airlines was pretty sweet. The seats went all the way down and I was able to get about 7 hours of sleep. The flight was 15 hours long from JFK to HK- and we went over the Arctic. Here is a pic of the flight map- and my feet all covered (Both are pretty addicting to watch in a sleepy trance.)
This little space was my home for a day and it was pretty cozy. I even tried to be healthy and got the fish lunch- too bad it was braised in straight butter. Mmm

Testing

Trying this out for the first time....
